Common questions from new brand founders.
What’s a realistic MOQ for a first production run?
Most of our skincare, bath and body, and haircare lines start at 500 units per SKU. Sunscreen (up to SPF 15 in-house) typically starts at 1,000 units. Animal care also starts at 500 units. We’d rather have you launch a tight range you can grow than overcommit on units that sit on a shelf.
How long from first conversation to product on hand?
Typically 4 to 6 months for a custom-formulated range. Sunscreens above SPF 15 are TGA-listed therapeutic goods that we facilitate through our partner network — those projects can run 8 to 12 months because of TGA testing requirements. If you take a private label base and personalise it for your brand, you can be in market in as little as 8 to 12 weeks. Full process here.
Private label or custom formulation — which is right?
Private label gets you to market fastest with a proven formula in your branding. Custom formulation gives you a defensible, distinct product — the right call when you have a specific position to own. We do both, often within the same brand: launch private label, then add a hero custom-formulated product once you understand the market.
