Epilab manufactures hair styling products for Australian hair care brands. Gels, mousses, creams, pomades and pastes across hold levels, finishes and positioning.

All styling products made in Melbourne. Custom formulation, private label and white label under one roof. We produce non-aerosol formats only. Liquid hairsprays, mousses delivered without propellant, and pump-spray styling products are within scope. Traditional propellant aerosols are not.

What we make

Hair gels (clear, water-based), styling creams (low to medium hold, cream-format), pomades (water-based and wax-based), pastes (matte, texture-focused), and pump-mousse formats. We do not produce propellant-aerosol products.

Three ways to launch a hair styling product

Custom formulation

Custom styling products are formulated around target hold level, finish (matte, satin, glossy), and the sensory profile of the application. Six to ten weeks. MOQ starts at 500 units for most formats.

Private label

Private label styling uses our existing formula library across gels, creams, pomades and pastes. Three to six weeks.

White label

White label styling products ready to ship with your label. Two to four weeks.

Minimum order quantities

Tub and jar MOQ starts at 500 units. Tube-packaged styling cream MOQ starts at 3,000 units. Pump-bottle and bottle formats start at 500. Pricing tiers improve at 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000-unit volumes.

Formulation considerations

Styling formulation is built around the hold polymer system. PVP, VP/VA copolymer and similar resins provide the structure. Wax-based pomades use beeswax, candelilla and synthetic waxes for hold. Texture pastes use clay, silica and matting agents. We work through hold level, finish, comb-through, residue and re-stylability in development.

Cost transparency

Styling product unit cost depends on polymer system, wax content (for pomades) and packaging. Tube-packaged styling cream sits at the higher cost end due to tube filling. Tub pomades are mid-range.
